Biography

Colleen serves as the executive director of development and alumni relations at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. She is responsible for leading all fundraising, alumni engagement and external relations activities on behalf of the school. Colleen has been with the University of Michigan since 2006 and in addition to her role at the School of Nursing, she has held positions in the Office of University Development and the College of Engineering. While at the College of Engineering, she was instrumental in planning and executing the first activities of the College of Engineering’s Center for Entrepreneurship alongside then director Thomas Zurbuchen.

Prior to Colleen’s time at Michigan, she was with the Kansas University Endowment Association where she led the School of Engineering development team and was responsible for closing two of the all-time top ten gifts to the university.   

Colleen serves on numerous university committees including the Office of University Development Diversity, Equity and Inclusion committee and the metrics and performance standards committee. She serves as a mentor and teaches various classes including fundraising fundamentals, strategic portfolio management and the major gift officer session of the U-M Development Summer Internship Program.

Colleen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Kansas and is an alumna of the CORO Kansas City Public Affairs program.
