Celebrating Nurses Month at the U-M School of Nursing
Public trust in nurses does not waver — for 19 consecutive years and through the worst public health crisis in recent history, nursing has been ranked as the most trusted profession in the United States. That trust is well earned, as nurses are not only the face of health care on the front lines but also leaders who will reshape the future of care in a post-pandemic world. Whether guiding policy, providing essential preventive care or treating critically ill patients in the ICU, nurses continue to demonstrate their immeasurable impact on the health and well-being of communities across the country and around the globe.
May is Nurses Month, and we’re joining the American Nurses Association to honor the countless ways that nurses make a difference. Throughout the month, we’ll be celebrating the clinicians, scientists, executives, educators and students in our community who are working to build a smarter and more equitable future of health for all.
Nurses Month is divided into four weekly focus areas:
- Self-care
- Recognition
- Professional Development
- Community Engagement
