Join the U-M School of Nursing as we celebrate National Nurses Week May 6 through 12. The annual effort aims to elevate the nursing profession and recognize nurses’ critical contributions to the health and well-being of our communities.

Nurses Week carries special significance this year, as nurses around the world display unparalleled commitment and courage on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nurses Week 2020 also coincides with the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. Throughout the week, we’ll be celebrating those in our U-M School of Nursing family and beyond, honoring the clinicians, scientists, educators and nurse executives who dedicate themselves to advancing patient care and the public good every day.

As part of our National Nurses Week celebration, we will:

  • Highlight the ways our faculty, students and alumni are fighting COVID-19 on multiple fronts.
  • Showcase the work of the dedicated nurse-midwives at the U-M School of Nursing, who are fighting to improve infant and maternal health around the world.
  • Revisit February’s Conversation About Men in Nursing, featuring a video of the event.
  • Share special messages from our faculty and alumni.
  • Explore self-care strategies for nurses and nursing students from U-M School of Nursing CAPS Counselor Kristen Adams.
  • Give you a chance to shout out the special nurses in your life.
