Sigma Rho Chapter: 2020 Awards
Each year, the Rho Chapter of the Sigma nursing honor society recognizes excellence in nursing with its chapter awards program. While Rho regrets the postponement of the April 5 ceremony, a ceremony is planned for fall 2020 to recognize award recipients. Until then, Rho Chapter salutes the 11 awardees:
- Excellence in Research: Christopher Friese Ph.D., RN, AOCN, FAAN
- Excellence in Leadership: Bonnie Hagerty, Ph.D., RN
- Excellence in Education: Rhonda Schoville, Ph.D., MSBA, RN
- Excellence in Practice: Regi Freeman, MSN, RN, ACNS-BC, FCNS
- Friend of Nursing: Geoffrey Hoffman, Ph.D., MPH
- Student Leadership: Hayley Flores and Brianna Finley, senior nursing students
- Drickamer Student Mentorship: Mitchell Keefer and Heather Kudalis, senior nursing students
- Rising Star Award: Grace Kanzawa-Lee Ph.D., RN
- Distinguished Service: Ann Kruszewski, Ph.D., RN
The Rho Chapter also maintains several grants to support members' scholarship.
Research/EBP Grant Award to support research and evidence-based practice projects:
- Project Dissemination Grant to support presentations of scholarly work: SeoYoon Woo & Haeun Lee
- Global Health Grant to support international health projects: Kristiana Hila and Nathan Stefanovsky
- Professional Development Grant to support conference attendance: Sara Hortsch and Naomi Evans
- Ketefian Grant to support membership dues for international students: Xinyi Chen and Weijiao Zhou
