Day of Honors for UMSN Students
Student researchers score grand slam at Midwest Nursing Research Society 2013 Conference
The annual research conference that the Midwest Research Nursing Conference (MNRS) hosted in Chicago in early March 2013 turned into a "Go Blue" kind of blue-ribbon event. University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN) doctoral students won first place in both the Ph.D. and DNP student poster competitions, and two UMSN BSN students also earned honors for their work.
Mentors and faculty across the school brimmed with pride and congratulations at the news. "Great affirmation of our exceptional doctoral students and excellent doctoral programs at UMSN" and "What an amazing showing" were examples of comments bouncing across hallways and email as the news circulated.
"We are so proud of these doctoral and undergraduate students, and of how UMSN is educating the next generation," said Dean Kathleen Potempa.
Following is information about winning student research:
- Hyojin Yoon was awarded First Place among Ph.D. Posters for "How Do Cancer Patients and Caregivers Perceive Web-Based Interventions? A Qualitative Study."
