Lori Ristau

Biography

Lori has made a career in higher education administration following a philosophy of building a solid foundation that embodies a broad range of academic and administrative operational functions with a focus on continuous improvement based on learning and sharing knowledge. Her experience is the culmination of many aspects of higher education administration including academic, faculty and student affairs; budget and finance; intercollegiate athletics and advancement and alumni relations, in addition to human resources. Lori serves as the UMSN Director of Human Resources and has been with the school since 2007.

In addition, Lori team-taught freshman and sophomore level students, and worked with faculty to create materials reflecting orientation to university life, management skills and how to be successful in college. She also served as a chief executive designee for faculty, staff and student grievances.

Her career trajectory has been beneficial to the role she serves in the school. It has led to a broader perspective and outlook as a strategic thinker and leader in human resources providing guidance to all constituents.
